New Year’s Resolutions

Con la llegada del año nuevo se abren nuevas expectativas, ilusiones, y sobre todo, deseos. En inglés la expresión utilizada es “New Year’s Resolutions”, ¿cuáles son tus propósitos?: ¿sacar mejores notas? ¿empezar a hacer deporte? ¿aprobar las asignaturas suspensas? ¿mejorar la relación con tus amigos? ¿que tu equipo favorito gane la liga? ¿Quizás mejorar tu inglés? ¿ser más organizado/a?……. Para introducir el tema puedes hacerlo leyendo el artículo publicado en Wikipedia, después puedes ver el vídeo que el profesor Mr Duncan (del cual ya hemos hablado en este blog en otras entradas) ha realizado sobre esta cuestion.

Tenerife News is the main information newspaper in English for anybody living or visiting the Canary Islands. One of our students, Klara Hemmerich (1ºbachillerato), wrote an article about the Silent March which took place at the end of November in Candelaria. Es tiempo de Navidad y queremos abrir esta entrada para que puedas encontrar varios recursos con los que poder practicar sobre esta tradición:

1º) Enlaces a cuatro diálogos referidos a la Navidad, se encuentran al igual que muchos más en la web www.elllo.org que ya hemos sugerido como un buen recurso para practicar listening.

b) Cómo se sienten en Navidad. Ver.

c) La Navidad en Canada. Ver.

d) La Navidad en Suiza. Ver.

2º) Para conocer sobre la navidad en Gran Bretaña, haz clic aquí. Una vez que hayas visto la información, como tarea de “READING”, contesta al siguiente cuestionario: CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS.

3º) Vídeo con la letra de la canción de John Lennon “Happy Xmas (War is Over). Todo un clásico que nunca pasa de moda.

4º) Por último, déjanos un comentario contestando a la pregunta siguiente: “What do you like most and what don’t you like about Christmas?”?
